Chicagoland avoids severe storms but now will see a big cooldown

CHICAGO - Tornado watches that were just south of Chicagoland on Thursday have been canceled, leaving the area in the clear for severe storms.
The focus now shifts to cooler air moving in, as temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-30s tonight accompanied by gusty north-northeast winds.
Winds are forecast to relax through the day on Friday, with highs reaching the upper 40s and low 50s. Skies will gradually become mostly sunny during the afternoon.
Looking ahead to Saturday, conditions appear favorable for the river dyeing event with partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 50s. However, Sunday is expected to be cooler, with highs in the low to mid-40s.
Additionally, there is a chance of snow showers Sunday night and early Monday as temperatures continue to drop.
