Flooding shuts down portion of I-57 lanes in Cook County

Interstate 57 was closed at Parnell Tuesday afternoon due to flooding caused by severe storms.

Interstate 57 was temporarily closed at Parnell Tuesday afternoon due to flooding caused by severe storms.

According to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the flooding impacted inbound lanes only.

IDOT crews were on-site working to reopen the closed lanes. At about 5:30 p.m., all lanes were reopened.
