CHICAGO - A storm system passing through the Chicago area Monday afternoon could bring damaging winds, hail and possibly a tornado.
Peaking from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., thunderstorms will travel 50 mph northeast across Chicago, surrounding suburbs and northwest Indiana.
Strong straight-line winds of up to 60 mph are also possible.

The high for Chicago on Monday is at 77 degrees with lows tonight dropping into the 60s.

3:15 P.M.: A tornado watch was issued for parts of Illinois, including the Chicagoland area, and parts of Indiana until 9 p.m.
5 p.m.: Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for East central Newton County in northwestern Indiana, Porter County in northwestern Indiana and Jasper County in northwestern Indiana.
6:50 p.m.: Severe Thunderstorm Warning including DeKalb IL, Ottawa IL, Rochelle IL until 7:45 p.m.
6:55 p.m.: Tornado warning issued for parts of LaSalle County and DeKalb County.
