Man killed in Englewood house fire identified

CHICAGO - A man is dead after a house fire in Englewood.

The fire erupted in the 5900 block of South Elizabeth on Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators say it appears the fire was caused by careless use of smoking materials and is being ruled accidental.

On Wednesday, the medical examiner identified the victim as 77-year-old Robert Wayne Davis. 

Firefighters will canvas the area on Thursday to check and install residential smoke detectors.
