16-year-old boy shot, killed on Chicago’s South Side

CHICAGO - A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed on Chicago’s South Side on Sunday night, police said.

The boy was shot in the head by an unknown offender in the 2300 block of East 93rd Street in the Calumet Heights neighborhood around 7:15 p.m.

He was taken to Trinity Hospital unresponsive and in critical condition. He was later transferred to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he died.

Area detectives are investigating the shooting.
