Aldi in Auburn Gresham permanently closes due to crime, declining sales
CHICAGO - Another Chicago neighborhood grocery store has shut down.
The Aldi on South Ashland in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood is now closed.
It shut its doors on June 12.

In a statement, Aldi says the decision was based on several factors — including repeated burglaries and declining sales.
This comes just months after a Whole Foods store closed in Englewood.
