Saint Sabina is celebrating the reopening of a much needed food pantry. Catholic Charities closed it last month--after ten years--because it got too expensive. So Saint Sabina took over, saying the services it provided were desperately needed.

Leo High School students were welcomed by the school's alumni on their first day of school Thursday morning.

Father Michael Pfleger and a group of Auburn Gresham residents participated in a two-hour peace walk at Saint Sabina on Friday night. The group visited the areas where shootings recently occurred.

A leak on a high-pressure water main inside the Roseland Pumping Station impacted service in parts of Beverly, Morgan Park and Auburn Gresham from roughly 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday, officials said. The water main has been brought back online and is now fully pressurized.

The South Side community came together Wednesday morning to distribute bottled water after a water main break Tuesday night. Water service was interrupted for four hours. A boil water advisory was in effect.
