Thursday afternoon, Georgia State Patrol troopers were in pursuit of an ambulance and it wasn't on the way to an emergency.

It all started along Interstate 20 when officials said an ambulance cut off a trooper. That's when the trooper noticed the ambulance had no license plate and tried to stop the driver, who instead of stopping, took off.

The driver lost control on Flat Shoals Road near Bouldercrest Drive slamming into a Lexus SUV before hitting a power pole.

Police said the ambulance was not stolen. The man actually owned it as his personal vehicle.

As for the Lexus, that was nearly demolished. It was parked in front of a house, so no one was hurt.

The Georgia State Patrol said the driver of the ambulance has warrants for his arrest in Forest Park.

A female passenger was not arrested and allowed to leave.
