Man found dead following barricade situation in Antioch

Antioch police ordered residents to shelter in place Friday night due to a barricaded individual.
Officers responded to the 600 block of Hillside Avenue around 6:43 p.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance.
Responding officers were met by an armed man who pointed an AR-15 rifle at them. The man retreated inside the home with the weapon.
SWAT was called to assist with the situation.
After several hours of attempted communication with the person who was barricaded inside the home, SWAT members entered.

The man was found unresponsive in the basement of the home, with what appears to have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.
No one else was seriously injured in the situation.
The incident is under investigation. There is no current threat to the public
