Austin shooting: Boy, 16, dies days after being shot in head on Chicago's West Side
CHICAGO - A 16-year-old boy who was shot in the head last weekend on Chicago's West Side has died.
On Saturday, around 5:50 p.m., police say Demarjay Branch was near the sidewalk in the 4900 block of W. Madison St. when he was struck in the head by gunfire.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition and died on Tuesday at 11:26 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Nobody was reported in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
