1 arrested after holding up South Side bank
CHICAGO - A person was arrested Wednesday morning after stealing money from a Morgan Park bank that was being tracked with a GPS device.
The suspect walked into a PNC Bank around 10:15 a.m. at 10701 S. Western Ave., and passed the teller a note demanding cash, according to Ald. Matt O'Shea (19th).
The bank teller complied, and the suspect fled the scene with cash and a GPS tracking device.
Chicago police found the suspect on a Pace bus that was traveling northbound on Western Avenue. The suspect was taken into custody near the corner of 99th Street and Western Avenue.
There were no reported injuries. Chicago police and the FBI are investigating.
