4 suburban men accused of attacking Barraco's employees due in court

The four men accused of attacking multiple employees at Barraco's Pizza on Chicago's Southwest Side will appear in court Friday morning.

They are scheduled to appear before Judge Walowski at 9:30 a.m. in Room 504 of the George Leighton Criminal Courthouse.

The offenders, identified as 20-year-olds Andrew Fedyk of La Grange, Harry Kenny of Glen Ellyn, Frank Paris of River Forest, and John Powers IV of Oak Park, allegedly attacked four victims, including a 20-year-old man, a 28-year-old man, a 45-year-old man, and a 61-year-old man.

The attack took place around 1:37 a.m. on June 23 when Chicago police were called to the scene by an off-duty officer who reported the altercation. The offenders were allegedly fighting Barraco's staff and also attacked the off-duty officer.

They were arrested minutes after the incident, between 1:45 and 2:22 a.m. Some of the offenders were caught at the restaurant and the others were found nearby in the 11200 block of South Whipple Street and the 11100 block of South Albany Avenue.

Police brought the men back to the restaurant where they were identified by the victims and other witnesses, according to the arrest report.

The attorneys for the four suspects said that the three bouncers inside Barraco's were the aggressors, and they claimed to have video to back it up.

The 61-year-old victim — later identified as Nick Barraco — was unable to speak to police because of the extent of his head injury after Fedyak allegedly struck him several times in the face, knocking him to the ground.

Kenny allegedly punched another one of the victims several times in the head, leaving cuts.

Each offender was charged with four counts of aggravated battery in a public place, one count of aggravated battery with great bodily harm, and one count of aggravated battery of a victim age 60 or older.

Additionally, Fedyk was charged with a misdemeanor count of using a fake ID. Paris was charged with one count of robbery, and Powers was charged with one count of aggravated battery/strangling.

The four men initially appeared in bond court back in July.
