Chicago City Council approves new contract for CPD
CHICAGO - Chicago police have their first new contract in four years.
The Chicago City Council on Tuesday approved the contract with the Fraternal Order of Police.
Rank-and-file officers will receive a 20-percent pay raise. Half that is retroactive to 2017 and will cost the city $365 million.
The contract also introduces some new police accountability measures.
This is a developing story.
