‘I will prosecute him’: Border czar issues warning to Chicago mayor

President-elect Donald Trump’s border czar pick, Tom Homan, outlined his deportation plans in Chicago, emphasizing strict enforcement and criticizing Illinois leaders.

President-elect Donald Trump's pick for border czar revealed his plans to handle mass deportations on Monday in Chicago.

Tom Homan spoke at a Northwest Side GOP holiday party, saying his plan includes verifying the status of asylum seekers and arresting anyone who is found harboring migrants who they are looking for.

During his speech, Homan called out Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson, saying he wants them to come to the table to negotiate over a mass deportation plan.

Homan's invitation did not come without harsh words, saying "Chicago is in trouble because your mayor sucks and your governor sucks." He also warned he would prosecute Mayor Johnson should he impede on ICE's efforts to deport undocumented immigrants.

Pritzker's office released the following statement in response to Homan:

"It’s no secret that Illinois will face countless, baseless attacks over the next four years from the Trump Administration. Rather than responding to every ridiculous boast from Trump lackeys, Governor Pritzker is focused on what he was focused on during the first Trump term: leading our state with competence instead of chaos."

This all follows Trump's vow to end birthright citizenship once he takes office.

Trump said he would sign an executive order meant to reverse the constitutional guarantee that anyone born in the United States is a citizen, regardless of their parent's legal status.
