Chicago home invasion: Man shot during West Side burglary

A man was shot during a violent home invasion Wednesday morning in the Austin neighborhood.

Two suspects broke into a home just before 5 a.m. in the 100 block of North Long Avenue, according to Chicago police.

Once they got inside, one of the suspects shot a 43-year-old man in the abdomen. The suspects then stole property from the residence and fled eastbound from the back of the home.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in unknown condition.

There were no other reported injuries.

Police said no arrests have been made. Area Four detectives are investigating.
