Suburban man, teen girl arrested in connection to battery and carjacking in Chicago
CHICAGO - A 16-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man were arrested Sunday in connection with a carjacking and battery that occurred last month in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood.
The girl faces two felony counts of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a weapon, while Fonocerio Edwards, of Waukegan, faces two felony counts of vehicular hijacking.
The charges stem from a Dec. 23 incident in the 2800 block of West 63rd Street, when the suspects allegedly battered and carjacked a 38-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man at gunpoint.
The pair was arrested Sunday in Buffalo Grove and Waukegan. Edwards is scheduled for a detention hearing Tuesday.
