Chicago Lawn shooting: Female critically wounded on city's Southwest Side

CHICAGO - A female was shot and critically wounded on Monday afternoon in Chicago Lawn.

Around 3:15 p.m., police say the female victim was on the sidewalk in the 2300 block of W. 66th Street when she was shot in the lower chest by an unknown offender.

The victim was transported to Christ Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Nobody was reported in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
