Chicago police arrest 15-year-old boy 90 minutes after allegedly carjacking, robbing man
CHICAGO - Chicago police arrested a 15-year-old boy on Monday after he allegedly robbed and carjacked a man at gunpoint on the city's Southwest Side.
What we know:
The teen faces one felony count of armed robbery with a firearm, one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm, one felony count of receiving, possessing or selling a stolen vehicle and one count of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon by a person under 21, police said.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Monday around 1 p.m. in the 4400 block of South Keating Avenue, when the teen allegedly robbed and carjacked a 35-year-old man at gunpoint.
Police arrested the juvenile less than 90 minutes later in the 3600 block of West 79th Place.
Police also noted that there were other offenders involved in this crime.
What we don't know:
Police did not disclose the teen's name as he is being charged as a juvenile.
Additionally, it is unknown if any other offenders involved in this crime were arrested or charged.
