Chinese company pleads guilty to stealing tech from Chicago-based Motorola Solutions
CHICAGO - A Chinese company pleaded guilty in federal court on Monday to stealing technology from Chicago-based Motorola Solutions.

What we know:
Hytera Communications Corp. Ltd., pleaded guilty to one felony charge of conspiracy to steal trade secrets.
In 2008, people working with Hytera agreed to steal documents and source code related to Motorola's digital mobile radio technology, according to the plea agreement. They then used some of the stolen information to develop Hytera products that were later sold in Illinois, according to court documents.
What's next:
The sentencing hearing for Hytera Communications Corp. Ltd., is scheduled for Nov. 6 before U.S. District Judge John J. Tharp, Jr.
The Chinese company faces a fine of up to $60 million and will be ordered to make full restitution to Motorola as determined during sentencing.
