Cook County man charged in carjacking on Chicago's SW Side

A suburban man was charged in connection with a carjacking Monday afternoon on Chicago's Southwest Side.

Jose Gorostieta, 18, was allegedly part of a group who carjacked a 35-year-old man at gunpoint around noon in the 4400 block of South Keating Avenue, according to police.

Gorostieta, of Bridgeview, was arrested roughly three hours after the carjacking in the Ashburn neighborhood. He was charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking with a weapon and criminal trespass to a vehicle, both felonies.
