CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - The logo was created by Ojibway artist Mike Ivall on October 29 and is blowing up the Internet.

Ivall spoke with radio hosts in Winnipeg regarding his creation and had the following to say: "At the time I was just learning how to use Illustrator [software] and I know how some natives are a little against the native imagery and stuff like that, so I thought, 'Let's just try something out and be literal about it.'"

After all the praise for his logo, Ivall posted a public thank you. However, he said that if the Blackhawks were to ever use it, he would be both happy and sad.

“Thank You everyone for enjoying my Blackhawks design. If it ever happens, I would be happy and sad. Alas, I no longer own the rights to it.”

According to a report, Ivall has now sold the design to the Ottawa-based AAA Hockey team, the Maplesoft Hawks.
