Driver killed in wrong-way crash in North Chicago identified
NORTH CHICAGO, Ill. - A driver was killed and two others were injured in a wrong-way crash on Route 41 in North Chicago Sunday morning.
The head-on crash happened around 2:14 a.m. just south of Brompton Avenue, according to officials.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found two vehicles in the roadway that had collided head-on. The driver of a Honda Pilot was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 67-year-old George Santi of Highwood. An autopsy revealed he died from blunt force injuries.
Two occupants of the a Honda Civic were transported in stable condition to Lake Forest Hospital with injuries, officials said.
The crash remains under investigation.
