FBI: Man wearing medical mask robs Deerfield bank, second in two months
DEERFIELD, Ill. (STMW) - A man wearing a medical mask who robbed a north suburban Deerfield bank Wednesday afternoon is also suspected of robbing a Waukegan bank while wearing a breathing mask last month.
The most recent robbery happened at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at a TCF Bank branch at 16 S. Waukegan Rd. in Deerfield, according to the FBI.
The suspect is described as a black man about 30, 6-foot and more than 200 pounds, authorities said. He was wearing a black knit hat, black hooded sweatshirt, glasses and medical mask.
The same man is suspected of robbing a TCF Bank branch at 922 Green Bay Rd. in Waukegan at 6:50 p.m. Nov. 12, authorities said.
In that robbery, the suspect implied he had a gun but did not show one. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Waukegan police and the FBI. He was wearing a black hat, black hooded sweatshirt and breathing mask.
