Fire erupts at U of I's Memorial Stadium, 1 firefighter injured

CHICAGO - A fire erupted Tuesday night at the University of Illinois' Memorial Stadium.

Officials say it occurred away from spectator areas.

The Champaign Fire Department said one firefighter suffered minor injuries.

The university continues to assess the damage to ensure the stadium will be safe ahead of Friday's game against Nebraska.
