Shooting in south suburb leaves man hospitalized, police say
STEGER, Ill. - A man is in the hospital after a shooting late Friday in south suburban Steger, authorities said.
Steger police responded to a report of a possible gunshot victim at 4:30 p.m. in the area of Kings Road and Richton Road.
Officers found the man lying on the ground with possible gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital, and his condition is unknown, police said.
Details on the suspect or what led to the shooting haven't been released.
Authorities are still investigating the incident and are urging people to avoid the area until further notice.
