Fire breaks out at Gold Coast high-rise
CHICAGO - Crews put out a fire that broke out in a high-rise Thursday morning in the Gold Coast neighborhood.
The fire started around 6:30 a.m. in a 15th floor unit at 1030 N. State St., according to the Chicago Fire Department.
The blaze was extinguished around 7:20 a.m.
Fire officials said the fire was believed to be caused by "careless discarding of smoking material."
