LOS ANGELES - Ford Motor Company announced a recall of thousands of electric F-150 Lightning trucks due to steering control problems that could increase crash risks.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports the recall affects 2023-2024 models where front upper control arm ball joint nuts may not be properly tightened.

Ford dealers will inspect affected vehicles and replace parts as needed at no cost. The company plans to notify owners by mail starting February 3, 2025.
