Ground stop issued at O'Hare Airport due to snow
CHICAGO - A ground stop was issued at O'Hare Airport Friday morning due to snow and ice.
Snow prompted the Federal Aviation Administration to halt landings and departures at O'Hare Airport just before 8 a.m.
The ground stop is in effect for O'Hare until 9:15 a.m., officials said. Nearly 90 flights have been canceled at O'Hare today with average delays lasting under 15 minutes.
Up to three inches of snow were expected in parts of the Chicago area Friday morning.
