Homes near Midway to be soundproofed thanks to million-dollar grant

CHICAGO - If you live by Midway Airport, you'll want to hear this.

Relief from the noise is coming.

On Wednesday, Congresswoman Marie Newman announced a $5 million grant for sound-proofing homes around the airport.

The first phase covers insulation for 100 residences.

When the whole project is complete, 341 homes will have new soundproofing.
