Illinois could get rid of front license plates, saving state $800K on plate production

A new bill proposed in Illinois would allow drivers to ditch that front license plate. This could save the state about $800,000.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - You might soon be able to ditch that front license plate in Illinois.

A bill proposed would change the vehicle code to remove the required plate.
