Illinois man sentenced for meth possession
PLANO, Ill. - A Plano man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for possessing methamphetamine with the intent to deliver.
Shaylan Preston, 29, received the sentence in a negotiated plea agreement for the Class X felony.
According to Kendall County prosecutors, authorities intercepted a FedEx package containing about 4,700 grams of methamphetamine bound for a Plano residence. They then carried out a controlled delivery while monitoring the location.
Preston arrived at the address, took the package into his vehicle, and was stopped by law enforcement shortly afterward. The drugs were recovered, and Preston admitted he was delivering the package to someone else.
Preston was placed under GPS home confinement before sentencing. He will serve at least 75% of his 15-year sentence and will complete 18 months of supervised release afterward.
