2 juveniles arrested for spray painting racial slur at Mount Prospect baseball field: police

Two 14-year-old boys are accused of vandalizing Busse Park in Mount Prospect on Monday.

The incident occurred around 6:22 p.m. when officers responded to a report of two male juveniles spray-painting a racial slur and another derogatory term at the baseball field located at 111 N. Owen Street.

Before officers arrived, the teens had left the park on bicycles. An officer was able to locate the teens nearby, and they allegedly had cans of spray paint in their possession.

Spray paint was found on benches and a supply storage container at the baseball field, police said. The graffiti was immediately removed by the Mount Prospect Park District.

The two 14-year-old boys were referred to the Mount Prospect Police Department's Juvenile Diversion program.
