Elizabeth Lake water rescue in Twin Lakes; 1 still missing
TWIN LAKES, Wis. - Multiple crews responded to a water rescue in Kenosha County on Thursday, Jan. 30.

What we know:
The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office said multiple people fell through the ice on Elizabeth Lake in Twin Lakes.

The Twin Lakes Police Department said a 70-year-old man remains unaccounted for beneath the ice after an ATV broke through the water. Search efforts were ongoing until just before 9 p.m. Thursday, and officials said they would resume early Friday, Jan. 31.

"Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the missing man during this difficult time, and we keep them in our thoughts and prayers," Twin Lakes police wrote.
Two other individuals who were also on the ATV were able to make it out safely. They were evaluated by Twin Lakes Rescue and declined transportation to the hospital, police said.

The DNR advised that the ice on lakes is not safe, and it is not recommended for people to be on it.

The sheriff’s office said they were assisting the Twin Lakes police and fire departments in the incident.
