Lisle man took photos of girls waiting by bus stop, possessed child pornography: prosecutors
LISLE, Ill. - A Lisle man was arrested earlier this month after police allegedly found images of child pornography on his cell phone, computer and iPad.
Charles Eastes, 67, faces one count of possession of child pornography (victim under 13) and two counts of child pornography.
What we know:
On Dec. 24, 2024, the Lisle Police Department received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about possible child pornography in DuPage County.
The investigation led detectives to Eastes, and on Jan. 8, police executed a search warrant at his residence.
There, they allegedly uncovered images of child pornography on Eastes' cell phone, desktop computer and iPad.
Additionally, authorities located numerous photos of middle school-aged girls who were waiting at a bus stop located directly outside Eastes' home.
Eastes was taken into custody following the search.
What they're saying:
DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin released the following statement about Eastes' charges:
"Child pornography is not a victimless crime. Year after year, hundreds of thousands of images are downloaded and shared over the Internet with each image representing yet another innocent, young victim of child pornography.
"To protect these innocent victims, my office stands ready to vigorously prosecute any allegations of child pornography. What I find extremely disturbing in this case is the allegation that in addition to thousands of images of child pornography, Mr. Eastes also possessed numerous images that he took himself of neighborhood girls as they waited for the bus outside his residence.
"I thank the Lisle Police Department for their work on this case and for their continuing efforts to protect our children from child pornographers. I would also like to thank Assistant State’s Attorneys Sean Kinsella and Melissa Kravich for their work on this case."
What's next:
A judge granted the state’s motion to detain Eastes pre-trial. His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 24.
