Man arrested after tossing bag of guns, ammo, cash out window during eviction: Sheriff

COOK COUNTY, Ill. - A 19-year-old man was arrested during a court-ordered eviction after authorities said he threw a bag containing illegal firearms, ammunition, and cash out a window.

Brian Smith was taken into custody after deputies found him in possession of illegal handguns, ammo, and magazines without a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification card (FOID) or concealed carry license, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

Deputies said Smith locked himself in a bedroom when they arrived at his home for the eviction and threw the bag, which contained firearms and $700 in cash, out a window.

Smith was charged with felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon following his arrest.
