Man dies after being gunned down on sidewalk on Chicago's South Side: police

CHICAGO - A man has died after being gunned down on the sidewalk on Chicago's South Side, police said. 

The shooting occurred just after 6 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of E. 81st Street.

The man was shot multiple times and transported to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition, according to Chicago police.

Authorities said the man later died from his injuries. His age and identity has not been released.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
