The driver was arrested for driving while under the influence, police said. Their identity hasn't been released.

Police are reminding drivers that, by law, they must slow down and move over when they see emergency lights. Additionally, drivers are prohibited from using cellphones within 500 feet of an emergency scene.

What's next:

Lansing police will conduct extra patrols targeting the "fatal four" violations: driving under the influence, speeding, distracted driving, and failure to wear seat belts.
