Man dies after being struck by Metra UP-N train in North Chicago, officials say
NORTH CHICAGO, Ill. - A man was fatally struck by a Metra UP-N train Thursday morning in North Chicago.
The pedestrian was struck around 8:30 a.m. near the North Chicago stop in the suburbs, according to Metra officials. The incident prompted extensive delays and both inbound and outbound trains on the UP-N line were halted as police investigated.
On Thursday afternoon, officials confirmed the pedestrian died from his injuries. His identity has not been released.
