Multiple armed robberies reported on North, Northwest Sides
CHICAGO - A string of armed robberies were reported in Bucktown, Logan Square and West Town overnight.
In each incident two male offenders got out of a black SUV and robbed victims walking on the sidewalk of their phones, wallets and purses.
The incidents happened at the following times and locations:
- A 46-year-old man was robbed of his wallet in the 1600 block of North Whipple Street at 11:09 p.m. in Logan Square.
- A 25-year-old man was robbed of his phone in the 2100 block of North Whipple Street at 11:17 p.m. in Logan Square.
- A 28-year-old woman was robbed of her purse in the 500 block of North Wood Street at 11:29 p.m. in West Town.
- A 50-year-old man was held at gunpoint during an attempted robbery in the 1900 block of North Oakley at 11:30 p.m. in Bucktown.
- A 51-year-year-old man was robbed of his phone and wallet in the 2000 block of West McLean Avenue at 1:23 a.m. in Bucktown.
No injuries have been reported, and no arrests have been made.
Chicago police have not said if these incidents were connected.
