Near West Side shooting leaves 32-year-old man dead

A man was shot and killed Monday morning on Chicago's Near West Side.

Around 3:16 a.m., officers found the 32-year-old unresponsive on the sidewalk in the 2100 block of West Gladys Avenue, suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder and a cut on his temple, according to police.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not yet been identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office.

No arrests have been made and no other injuries were reported. Area Three detectives are investigating.
