Robbers took money from businesses at gunpoint on Chicago's North, Northwest sides

Police are looking for a group of armed robbers who took money from businesses on the city’s North and Northwest sides earlier this month.

The unknown robbers entered the business, displayed handguns, and forced employees to open registers, Chicago police said.

In one of the incidents, the group also robbed a patron in the business. In another incident, one of the robbers struck an employee in the face with a closed fist.

Police provided the times and locations for the incidents:

Police described the offenders as four African American males wearing black ski masks, black hooded sweatshirts, black pants, and gloves. They drove in a gray Kia Sorrento.

Chicago police released surveillance video of the robbers entering what appeared to be a convenience store with one of the individuals standing guard at the door.

Another video appears to show them entering a Subway restaurant around 3:46 a.m. One of the robbers jumped behind the front counter and another pointed a gun at employees. A third robber then reached over the counter to take money out of the cash register before they made their escape only about a minute after they entered the restaurant.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to contact Area Three detectives at 312-744-8263 or Area Five detectives at 312-746-7394, or submit an anonymous tip at CPDTIP.com and use reference #24-CWP-059.
