Old Joliet courthouse to be torn down
JOLIET, Ill. - The old Joliet courthouse will be coming down.
Will County officials confirmed Thursday that a demolition contract has been signed.
The whole tear-down process is expected to begin next month.
The American Demolition Corporation was awarded just under $1.5 million for the project.
The old courthouse was built back in 1969 and closed in 2020 when the new one opened across the street.
