Park Forest murders: Arrest warrant issued for suspect Coleman Franklin

PARK FOREST, Ill. - Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a man in connection with the fatal shootings of two women last week in Park Forest.

Coleman Franklin faces two counts of first-degree murder for the homicides of Lillian Brown, 51, and Sabrina McCain, 30, on Dec. 26.

Police say Brown and McCain were found inside a home in the 300 block of Miami Street on Thursday night after officers responded to reports of a gunshot victim. Two children in the home at the time were unharmed and taken to the hospital as a precaution.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other died later at the hospital. Investigators said the incident was not random and that Franklin and the victims knew one another.

"The Park Forest Police Department and the Village of Park Forest extend their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Lillian Brown and Sabrina McCain as we work to seek justice for them," Park Forest PD said in a statement.
