Pedestrian struck and killed by Metra UP-N train in Evanston
EVANSTON, Ill. - A Metra train fatally struck a pedestrian Tuesday afternoon in suburban Evanston.
The pedestrian was hit by an out-of-service train traveling just before 3 p.m. near the Davis Street station, according to Metra spokesman Michael Gillis. He was later pronounced dead, according to Gillis.
Inbound and outbound Metra UP-N trains were stopped near Davis Street, Gillis said.
