Police searching for robber who sexually assaulted woman with disabilities

Police are looking for a person who robbed and sexually assaulted a woman with disabilities in the Marquette Park neighborhood Thursday afternoon.

Police say the attack happened just after 3 p.m. in an apartment building at the corner of Fairfield and West 65th Street.

FOX 32 talked to a next door neighbor who says he saw the victim come out of the building, crying, after the alleged attack. He described her as not only being hard of hearing, but also unable to speak, so in order to communicate what had just happened, she had to write it down on another passerby’s cellphone.

“She write down what happened to her. She [was] crying. She got a small dress on her and she write that somebody raped her,” the neighbor said.

“It’s to the point now, I’m afraid to walk around or do anything around here this neighborhood. I want to get out this neighborhood,” said Tiarra Zackery.

The victim is being treated at Holy Cross Hospital. Police still have no one in custody, so if you have any information, you are asked to contact Chicago Police.
