Portillo’s opens third pick-up only restaurant in south Chicago suburb
ORLAND PARK, Ill. - Portillo’s is opening its third-ever pick-up only restaurant in south suburban Orland Park this week.
The doors will open at the new location at 20 Orland Square Drive on Thursday at 10 a.m. after an official ribbon cutting ceremony, the Illinois-based company announced.
Unlike traditional restaurants, the new Orland Park location will not have any indoor dining but instead will have two drive-thru lanes and an inside pick-up area for orders placed online. The restaurant said such a concept is a "Restaurant of the Future" design with a smaller footprint.
The restaurant chain previously opened pick-up only locations in Joliet and Rosemont.
Portillo’s, a fast-casual staple in the area known for its Chicago-style street food like beef and hot dogs, has grown from its original Villa Park stand in 1963 to more than 90 locations in 10 states.
