Pritzker signs executive order to streamline early childhood education in Illinois
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker says early childhood education in Illinois needs improvement.
On Tuesday, Pritzker discussed a proposal to bring all aspects of the state's early childhood education programs under a single roof – instead of its current set-up with multiple agencies taking care of different aspects of it.
He signed an executive order to start the transition into a new state agency.
The governor's office said the new unified agency will improve services for children and families in Illinois.
