Rideshare driver beaten and robbed by passengers in Chatham

CHICAGO - A rideshare driver was attacked and robbed by his passengers early Wednesday in Chicago's Chatham neighborhood.

The driver told police three males who were his passengers attacked him and stole his phone around 2 a.m. in the 7800 block of South Lafayette Avenue, police said.

The victim refused medical treatment at the scene. There is no one in custody.

Area Two detectives are investigating.
