Stickney firefighters donate gear to department in Mexico

STICKNEY, Ill. - The Central Stickney Fire Protection District is donating some used firefighting gear to another department in need. 

The equipment will benefit the Jalpa Fire Department, located in Mexico.

Fire officials say the gear is over 10 years old and has been determined to be non-usable in the U.S. But, it's still in excellent condition. 

The fire chief from Jalpa, Mexico visited Stickney on Saturday to accept the donations.
