Gunmen open fire on man standing near sidewalk on Chicago's South Side: police

CHICAGO - Two gunmen opened fire on a man who was standing near a sidewalk in Stony Island Park Monday evening, according to police. 

The incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. in the 1700 block of East 87th Street.

Police said a 54-year-old man was near the sidewalk when two offenders produced handguns and fired shots.

The man was struck in the thigh and was taken to an area hospital in good condition.

No suspects are in custody and area detectives are investigating.
